In my Fundamentals of Design class, I went through a design process of analyzing the script and doing historical research to create a costume design for Eleanor from A Lion in Winter. I started with my research and analysis of the script, then moved onto choosing a color palette for the set so that I could use colors to complement them with my costume. The most difficult part of this project was researching each piece of clothing that was used in Chinon, France, 1183. My goal was to design a historically accurate costume that also conveyed the wittiness and anachronistic nature of the characters and play.
